full complement of stepper and servo, drives, motors, controllers,
gearheads, and power supplies to serve a diverse industrial and OEM
customer base. Applied Motion Products have application experience across a wide variety of industries. Having solved hundreds of complex problems in motion control with both standard and custom solutions driven by customer application needs.
Stepper Drives A complete offering of two-phase, bipolar step motor drives with control options ranging from step (pulse) & direction, CW/CCW pulse, A/B quadrature pulse, analog and digital velocity including joystick operation, and streaming serial commands, to the stand-alone execution of stored programs using your choice of two popular programming environments: Si Programmer™ and Q Programmer™. Applied Motion stepper drives offer advanced current control with features such as microstepping and microstep emulation, anti-resonance and torque ripple smoothing, all designed to maximize the performance of your stepper system.
Stepper Motors Since 1978, Applied Motion has specialized in offering two-phase, hybrid step motors in NEMA sizes 8, 11, 14, 17, 23, 24, and 34, both in standard and high torque designs. Applied Motion step motors are designed to work optimally with Applied Motion stepper drives, covering the needs of high torque design, high-bus voltage operation, and microstepping performance. Add an encoder to the rear shaft of an Applied Motion step motor, marry it to an Applied Motion drive equipped with encoder-feedback functionality, and dramatically improve system performance.
Integrated Steppers STM integrated drive+motors fuse step motor and drive components into a single device. These integrated steppers offer a space-saving design that reduces wiring and saves on cost over separate motor and drive components. STM integrated steppers, in NEMA 17, 23, and 24 frame sizes, combine the best of Applied Motion’s drive and motor offering in a single, integrated device.
Servo Drives Full-featured servo motor drives in a variety of control options ranging from step (pulse) & direction, CW/CCW pulse, A/B quadrature pulse, analog torque and velocity, and streaming serial commands, to the stand-alone execution of stored programs using your choice of two popular programming environments: Si Programmer™ and Q Programmer™. An easy-to-use software interface, Quick Tuner™, makes setup and tuning the servo system a snap.
Servo Motors High-torque brushless servo motors in NEMA and metric frame sizes. M series motors come in a 40, 60, or 80 mm frame size, along with a 2000-line incremental commutating encoder and an IP65 rating for the motor body. V series motors come in NEMA 17, 23, and 34 frame sizes with 2048-line incremental commutating encoders. The servo motors available here are specifically designed to work with Applied Motion servo drives.
Brushless DC Drives These brushless DC drives are based on advanced control technology that features excellent performance and ease of use. The drives are aimed at applications requiring high performance, high speed stability, basic velocity control, simple setup and low cost in a compact design. Motor velocity over a wide speed range is controlled via analog or digital inputs. Two on-board trimpots make setup simple. Dynamic braking enables the motor to stop quickly. The drives are available with a set of performance-matched brushless DC motors in metric frame sizes.
Brushless DC Motors These brushless DC motors offer long life and low maintenance for applications requiring stable velocity control over a wide speed range. They come in metric frame sizes and are offered with optional gearheads for applications demanding high torque. These are three-phase brushless motors provided with hall signals for commutation and velocity loop feedback. The motors are performance-matched for use with our line of brushless DC drives, which together provide an excellent performance to cost ratio.
Gearheads Applied Motion offers a complete range of pure planetary gearheads for use in precision applications with step and servo motors. These gearheads sport high torque ratings and low backlash, are available in NEMA sizes 17, 23, and 34, as well as some metric frame sizes, and come in a wide range of ratios.
Power Supplies 24 and 48 VDC switching power supplies for use with Applied Motion stepper and servo drives. All three power supplies have universal 120 to 220 volt inputs.
Accessories Accessories include cables for communications, cables for servo motors (motor power and feedback), controls for stepper and servo systems including SiNet Hubs and MMI operator interfaces, encoders for step motors, and regen components for DC-powered drives.
