World’s smallest laser scanner is the first with master/slave functionality
|
Certified for use in safety applications including AGVs, forklifts, robots and other items of moving equipment found in industrial facilities, the ultra-compact SE2L safety laser scanner is the first of its kind in the world to offer master/slave functionality! One SE2L scanner can act as master and communicate with up to three other scanners, reducing the required number of input and communication channels on the controller. Plus, this scanner provides a standard 270-degree arc of protection at a distance of up to 20 meters. The protection area can be configured into any pattern using either free programming software, or the scanner’s teach mode. Combine all that with dual zone protection, and in many applications SE2L can cut costs in half!

IDEC SE2L safety laser scanner is the smallest in the world but outperforming many competitions. Features include 270 degree sensing angle, 5m safety protection zone, 20m warning zone, and customizable protection patterns.

Master/slave functionality allows one SE2L scanner to act as master and communicate with up to three other scanners. The safety controller only needs to communicate with the master, reducing the required number of input and communication channels on the controller. This can allow lower-cost controllers to be applied in applications such as providing full 360-degree protection for an AGV, which requires four scanners.

SE2L can cover long distances, which makes it ideal for use with a variety of industrial robots and machinery. With dual protection mode, SE2L can also be programmed to safeguard two different zones for two robots at once. This can reduce the number of laser scanners and light curtains by half!
