Full Load Temperature Rise of 80°C/176°F or 115°C/239°F. Single or Three Phase. 15-500 kVA. These transformers feature a 220°C/428°F insulation system and temperature rise of only 80°C/176°F or 115°C/239°F under full nameplate load. The result is 13-21 percent lower operating losses compared to conventional 150°C/302°F rise units. The reduction in temperature rise also increases reliability due to a 35°C/95°F thermal reserve on 115°C/239°F rise units and a 70°C/158°F reserve on 80°C/176°F rise units. When these low temperature rise transformers are operated as 150°C/302°F rise units, they provide a short term overload capacity of 15-30 percent without compromising normal life expectancy.
Low temperature rise transformers are designed for any critical application requiring extra overload capability, lower than average total losses and/or cooler operating temperatures. All are available with either a 115°C/239°F or 80°C/176°F thermal rise and a class 220°C/428°F insulation system.
