The Actuator Sensor-interface (AS-interface) is the simplest and most cost-effective of the PLC-based industrial-networking protocols. This type of field bus is primarily intended to be used to control sensors and actuators at distances of up to 100 meters. AS-interface
MicroSmart AS-i
IDEC offers a plug-in AS-interface master module for the MicroSmart PLC that is easy to configure; it can also connect to up to 62 slaves. Configuring and slave monitoring can be done using LED indicators and pushbuttons on the front panel as well as WindLDR software.
